ITEM OVERVIEW
Guthrie, part balladeer, part sociologist, part political activist, gathered raw material directly from his rich life. He sang his tales to entertain, to enlighten, to change injustices he saw all around. This historical album also features (as well as Woody on guitar and vocals) Cisco Houston's vocals and Sonny Terry's harmonica. The program, sonically cleansed and remastered, contains a few original compositions and some of the folk songs Woody found and sang in his early years. Includes comprehensive liner notes.
